Science education is the greatest discovery there is.
About us
The BergamoScienza Association was founded in 2005 following the extraordinary success of the first two editions of the BergamoScienza science festival (2003 and 2004). The thirst for knowledge of the curious, science-enthusiast attendees encouraged the founding members to try to give continuity to that which was taking shape, involving public and private institutions in the region. Today, in addition to the festival having reached its 19th edition and gained international prestige, the association promotes a full programme of educational scientific events year-round in the BergamoScienceCenter (BSC).
Our mission
As the promoter and organizer of the festival, the BergamoScienza Association is committed to reaching concrete goals: creating new ways to spread scientific knowledge that moulds minds, especially young ones; sparking widespread interest in growth through knowledge; and ensuring an educational method that’s unbiased, accessible and useful for everyone.
Members
Our members share the organization’s goals, successes, future paths and mindset, participating in all association events. In many ways, they're ambassadors of BergamoScienza and its mission.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors oversees the Association’s activities and has power of approval over all decisions in relation to assets and financial matters, the Association's organization, and new member applications (natural persons and juridical entities).
Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee shares, proposes, selects and approves the scientific content of the Festival, assisted by special study and research commissions.
The Organization
The organization coordinates and plans the association's cultural and scientific events and the activities of the BergamoScienza Festival and the BergamoScienceCenter.
We Science - the Youth Committee
We Science coordinates the activities of volunteers under 30, organizes special events, and promotes the association’s values by encouraging the participation of young people.
COSI - Science Innovation Organizing Committee
These professionals, all of whom are under 40/50 years old, craft the scientific and educational programme before and during the festival, in dialogue with the Scientific Committee, the Association and the Organization.
School Committee
The School Committee manages the relationships with schools, and evaluates and oversees their projects from the planning phase to the completion, offering advice and expertise.
“Senior” Volunteers
Volunteers who are over 35 and participate actively in the festival's events or who handle specific parts of the BergamoScienza activity.
Our donors are fascinated by science and realize its importance for society as a whole. They believe that educating and giving a sense of direction to young people as well as keeping adults informed helps our society thrive. If you share these values, support BergamoScienza so that we can continue to offer free, engaging events for all.
Together we can make BergamoScienza reality.
